Edo Competition Ferrari GTB

April 23, 2008

edo competition Motorsport GmbH, one of the top names in sophisticated modifications of Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche cars is now introducing the brand new “edo 630 Scuderia” aerodynamics package for the Ferrari 599 GTB!

The aim was to underline the perfect shapes of the Ferrari 599 GTB and to adapt the aerodynamics to higher top speed and meet the increased cooling demands caused by the improved power output without compromising the styling of the car.

The flow-optimized front apron features an enlarged cooling air inlet which improves the engine’s thermal balance. The larger center inlet also provides cool air for the brakes, thereby increasing their service life and fade resistance. In addition to that the front spoiler lip improves downforce on the front axle.

The newly developed side skirts reduce crosswind sensitivity and improve wheel arch ventilation in combination with the new rear apron. To achieve this, a new undertray with a wider diffuser – now with 6 blades – was mounted on both sides to enhance rear axle downforce at high speeds. Additionally a carbon fiber lip is mounted on the trunk lid to provide extra stability and rear downforce.

Naturally all parts are made from ultra-lightweight carbon fiber, which means a weight reduction of nearly 50 kg (110 lb) is a welcome side effect of this aerodynamics package.

White and Gold

Enkei RPF1’s on a clean grand prix white S2000. Beautiful. Gold wheels still look nice on a white car.

Is it true Do-Luck went out of business? They had some ok stuff and some pretty ugly shit.

This Evo is just ok.

Unlimited Works Evo

April 15, 2008

Mean looking car. As always the car is outfitted with everything from Voltex. I believe that bumper costs around $7,000. Another shiney penny for the hood, then the fenders, the list goes on.

Damn

April 14, 2008

Ever think back and you ask yourself “If I knew what I know now, then why did I do what I did then?”
Thinking back…
-Why didn’t I start out with a manual car to begin with?
-Why did I get a 16g as my first turbo upgrade?
-Why did I get a Greddy intercooler with long-route piping?

The list goes on. Things I wish I would have done right the first time so I don’t need to deal with them now, or waste money in the past fixing them. I guess this phenomenon can be chalked up as experience. The experiences I got? I didn’t know anything about transmissions before my swap. I didn’t know anything about turbo’s before I got in there with my hands and started learning and wrenching.

If I hit the home run during my first swing, then I would have saved a bunch of money. I’m sure my car would be further along. I would have a Magnus intake manifold, more odds and ends from HKS, an ideal seat position in my car, Brembo big brakes.

But I guess that’s not how the story goes. The story goes like this: a normal human with normal faults attached, learning from mistakes and making wiser choices for the future.

Here is a picture of my car not too long ago on some G-Games wheels. I remember I just got my set of EDM/JDM tailights (super rare) after I passed up another set just a couple months before.

Genoa Update: 4-9-08

April 14, 2008

We have just added our new animated in-car video of the West Track. This runs both clockwise and counter clockwise (link here). The animation was painstakingly created by using close to 600 land and sky photos, digitizing the aerial photos and land survey, and collecting the longitude, latitude and altitude coordinates for the track itself to accurately replicate the lay of the land and of the track. The East Track is being created next. We have one animation displayed below. You can view both animations here…
